Arena’s - Let's Do Trivia Blurb - 6/10/24 *Inflated Prize Alert*

Arena's: Filling in this week for an ailing host. Get well soon, Gary! Lucky Guess nabbed the OTB extra point to jump into the early lead. They held off the rest of the field with Hot Totz nipping at their heels all the way. *draw a picture of a water slide on the Round 2/Question 1 response (6/17/24) to score bonus points* We had a tight group at Halftime led by Hot Totz just ahead of Lucky Guess, then Dewey Dawgs, Palmzinniano and Three Amigo's. Hot Totz made an early breakaway in the second half to extend their lead over the rest of the field. Going into the Final Bonus, they held a huge lead over Lucky Guess, Palmzinniano, Dewey Dawgs and Three Amigo's.

A couple teams correctly answered the Final Bonus, and the house team scored the 1st place prize, so that will be lumped into the next game's top prize.

The new start time of 8pm didn't slow down About Faces and RAF Turnhouse as both teams made a clean sweep of the first 3 rounds and finishing tied at halftime!  Their dominance in the 2^nd half continued, but RAF was able to get a leg up with the Cover Song Bonus and took a 3 point lead into the final question.  RAF Turnhouse nailed the final question as did Funny Fishes who leapt into 2^nd place with their 20 point wager!

Hey, y’all!

 

NEW TIME BEGINS THIS WEEK!

Music and team registration begins at 7:30pm

GAME BEGINS AT 8:00PM

 

John here! Filling in for Gary was fun, hope you enjoyed it.

 

We had 8 teams including some first-timers and some friends from our Dogfish Head game in Milton (no games for the summer) Pemberton Bunch! Can’t tell you how much I appreciated them showing up to support me and have a great time with some great food!

 

At halftime, BicycleMargaritas were on top by a nose as Trivia Newton-John were close enough to smell their cologne in a strong head-wind, and About Faces were close enough to read the labels on TNJ’s shirts! It was a tight-grouping! Speaking of groupings, attempt to draw the band logo of any group or at least name a group for your Round 2 Art Bonus – worth 3 points!

 

Rolling up into that final question, Trivia Newton-John had pushed their way past the other teams only to find they weren’t alone! Sons of Beaches had slipped up into the top spot in a flanking attack as both teams were sitting in a dead heat tie! BicycleMargaritas were a few points back in 3^rd with a little wind in their sails.

So, just like THAT! Pemberton Bunch puts up with my jokes about Milton and walks away the champions, even getting to experience our BRAND NEW TROPHY! Yay! But… will they return to Arena’s with regular host extraordinaire Gary to defend their title?  Or will they follow John to JD shuckers for Music Bingo? THAT is the question.
